Skyrim Legendary Release

April 30, 2013

skyrimtribox-1024x747

So Bethesda has finally annoyed the GOTY (or so called “Legendary”) release of Skyrim, for all 3 platforms.

Yay!

Maybe now I can buy it for 360, and continue on with my main character.

…But I’ll have to wait for awhile to scrounge enough money to pay $60 for it. Yikes.

Wish I had XBOX Live. Then this wouldn’t be such a hassle.

Or you know, wish they released the DLC on separate discs like they did with Fallout and Oblivion. Guess that’s too much money to produce now. Oh well.

Soon…I will update this blog with the DLC reviews.

Soon.

…When I’m not a poor bastard.

DRAGONBORN

November 5, 2012

Well, I just heard about this new DLC, and man does it ever look awesome.

I don’t even know where to begin.

I guess the main thing is FUCKING DRAGON RIDING WHAT.

“Are you ready to see the world as only a Dovah can?” HECK YEAH. BUT MAYBE THIS TIME I’LL ACTUALLY GET TO SEE IT BESIDES SOME STUPID LITTLE CUTSCENE!

The music plus that roar gave me the chills. And I hope the remixed version of the main theme is released, it’s amazing.

It comes out this December on XBOX Live, so all you 360 players, get ready to ride on some dragons!

For all you PS3 players…well I feel sorry for you. And yes, you have every right to be angry. I would be too if I played on the PS3. Just the lack of response from Bethesda towards the DLC being released on Sony’s gaming platform is a bit disheartening.

For me, I guess I’m still going to have to wait a few months before the GOTY edition comes out or something. Sucks I’d have to buy the whole game over again, but hey, I guess my old disc would become a backup? Who knows.

…And who is this supposed other Dragonborn? Guess we’ll find out…

Hopefully before we get attacked by tentacles…o__O

“You didn’t think you were the only one? He was the first…DRAGONBORN!” …DAT FACE!

Hearthfire

September 10, 2012

Keys to the Dovakiin Suite? YES FUCKING PLEASE.

I’m kind of late to the party, but I’d figure I’d give my two cents about the new DLC add-on for Skyrim. Now, as I’ve mentioned before, DLCs are pretty much out of my reach for now, so I haven’t actually begun to play it. From what I’ve heard though, it sounds pretty interesting.

Basically you get to purchase land and make your own home. Yes, your own personal Dovahkiin-worthy sanctuary. That’s pretty much it. Oh, and you can adopt kids and you might have to fight off giants and pesky skeever invasions. Damn those skeevers.

Now, from what I’ve heard before it came out were people going, “WTF?! Sims?! In MY Skyrim?” which I think is a bunch of bull, well, I mean, I can see the semblance a bit, but for me Hearthfire reminds a bit more of Fable. Not so much the building aspect, but the adopting kids bit (I assume you can’t have children with your spouse, but who knows).

So now I’m wondering if this could possibly happen if you have too much of a soft spot for children:

MOMMY. DADDY. MOMMY. DADDY. WHAT DID YOU BRING ME, MOMMY/DADDY? CAN I HAVE A TEDDY BEAR? CAN I COME ON AN ADVENTURE WITH YOU? CAN I HAVE A LOLLIPOP?

Or, you know, you could just adopt her:

I guarantee half of you PC users will kill your adopted children after a few days. Or, if it is like Fable, maybe you can just return them, I dunno.

Also, I have no idea how much it actually costs to make a Dovahkiin palace. I suppose it doesn’t matter too much, I mean most of my characters are fucking loaded, so I wouldn’t be too worried. And the plus side is you don’t have an annoying housecarl (at least I hope). Shit better not be too complicated, either. And are giants really destined to spawn outside your house? I mean, what if you live in an area way outside of giant territory? Shit doesn’t really make sense. And ooh, skeever infestations, more annoying than anything else, just like kill everything in like 2 seconds, it’s not that hard.

Does it seem awesome? Yes. Mainly because most of the awesome shit in the DICE demo reel made it into DLC. So kudos to Bethesda for that. It’s good for immersion-focused people like myself, and I like having more than 5…I mean, 8 options for a home, and it would be a chance to make something YOU designed, in a location YOU wanted, and all that jazz. So it’s pretty fucking sweet.

Will I be getting this? You bet your ass I will. When? Probably not for a very long time. 😦

DAWNGUARD REVEALED

May 31, 2012

Epic. (Image Credit: computerandvideogames.com)

So, just a few hours ago, Bethesda released the trailer for Dawnguard, about a week earlier than their would be E3 announcement. Not that I’m complaining of course…shit looks mighty epic. 😀

(If you want to view the trailer, a quick Google search will suffice, at the time of viewing I was #304, so feels pretty good to be on top of this stuff!! 😀 …Or maybe not…since it has a couple thousand likes…WTF Youtube?!)

So, it looks like this add-on will focus on these vampire-like creatures, who want to block out the sun with the use of an Elder Scroll. The player’s choice in this is to either fight them or aid them. If you choose to fight them, you become one of the Dawnguard, a group of humans dedicated to hunting down these vampiric-creatures. If you choose to help the vampires…well, you become one of those fearsome night creatures.

OH SHIT, SON. (Image Credit: Game Informer)

Inevitably, I think what will catch the attention of players the most besides the new transformations and mysterious story, is the possible addition of crossbows (as seen in the trailer), demonic mounts and other new weaponry (oh and in case you missed the news about the 1.6 patch, yes, mounted combat is included!!).

And yes, this DLC is still XBOX 360 exclusive for the first month or so. More details shall probably be given at this year’s E3. Stay tuned!! 😀

(PS: I just wanna give a special birthday shout-out to my awesome sister!! 😀 Love you, you crazy n00b!! ❤)

A Small, Nonsensical Update

May 25, 2012

Angry Alduin is angry. Very angry…
…What else is new?

Well, I apologize for the lack of updates here. With Diablo 3‘s recent release keeping me busy, I haven’t had much time to actually sit down and play some Skyrim.

I do have a post in mind already, but I need 12k first to actually post about it. So I’ve been playing in short bursts to work up the cash. First stop: the Honeybrew Meadery. Gonna steal as much as I can from that place, then sell it to the fence. Hell yeah, quick gold get!!

Once that’s done, I’ll have another article ready.

What’s new?

Well, I got a used HDTV, which I just set up yesterday. I don’t have any HD cables to go with it so Skyrim doesn’t look super sexy yet, but I’ll see if I can get a cable for cheap…(hopefully). At least now, it’ll be a lot easier to read the texts on the screen (not that Skyrim ever had this problem…but a lot of the other 360 games on the old TV did…Dragon Age 2, I’m looking at you!)

The 1.6 Beta update for PC users just came out today, and the only new feature added in besides a few more bug fixes is mounted combat.

MOUNTED.

COMBAT.

Forget the stupid human on his back, we all know the horse is the real hero of this story… HORSEBORN!

FUCK YEAH!!

😀

But to be honest, after watching an IGN review of it…it doesn’t look so easy to do. I mean it looks cool…but the horses are just too darn hard to maneuver. :/ Also, no mounted magic, which sucks giant dragon balls…

(Now we just need mounted followers and my life will be perfect…<3)

And I’ve been watching a bit of the Elder Scrolls online news here and there…and I can’t say I’m impressed just quite yet…But I think my thoughts on that will be for another entry, once more news and things come out…

(Also, no dragons. What. FUCKING–)

…To be honest though, I’M WAY MORE PSYCHED FOR DAWNGUARD!!

STOP BEING A COCKTEASE BETHESDA, AND GIVE US A BIT MORE INFORMATION!! GUAAHH!!

XD

DAWNGUARD

May 6, 2012

Every time I see this…I look into Dovahkin’s eyes…and Skyrim’s Main Theme starts playing in my head. Ooooooohhhhh OoooohHH OOOHH OOOOHHHHH!!!! …GODDAMN IT!!

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one excited about this. I’ve been pretty much checking Bethesda’s blog every other day for the past two weeks hoping to hear of some DLC, something, and finally…

(in Cicero’s voice) A little, teeny, tiny teaser…

😀

Now, I know a whole lot of people are bitching about the 360 having the exclusivity for the first month or so, but you know what, this was pretty much common knowledge even before the game came out. Look at this way, PC users:

-You have a never-ending supply of mods. Hush.

PS3 users:

-Well, you guys have been short-changed enough now, but think of it this way…maybe when it comes out on your console all the bugs and shit will be all ironed out (hopefully…you know how Bethesda games are at launch…buggy as hell!!)

I have a 360, so I’m not going to complain. Even if I didn’t get the DLC first (which actually, I probably won’t buy it at launch anyway…I can’t, unless they do a physical disc, as I don’t have LIVE), I still had enough adventuring and dragon-ass kicking to tide me over in the meantime.

I am curious to what it’s actually about. Hopefully it’s an epic, EPIC expansion, like they did with Oblivion (which I never really got into, Shivering Isles, I mean, just haven’t gotten to it)…but I hope you don’t have to start a new game to fully take advantage of new features and things…):

Some people are speculating the glow-y eyes are vampire-esque…maaaybe. Dunno how it would work with the werewolf players, though. Or it could be the souls of the dragon the Dovahkiin has absorbed…maybe you get some new storyline with that? I mean, you only need so many dragon souls to unlock shouts, after which, they become pretty useless…I’d like to see Bethesda do something with that…more epic than the souls-to-perks PC mod…Hmmmm…

I keep thinking though:

Dawn:

Dawnstar, Mythic Dawn

Guard:

A fort. For some reason I think of forts, lol.

DAWNGUARD.

Sounds epic.

I can’t wait.

COME ON, HURRY UP E3!!

😛
